American Idol season 8...so far

I love watching American Idol!!! I've got no TV here but it's not gonna stop me from tuning in each week~I love giving critics..then reviewing with friends on how the performances faired. It's just awesome!

Anyway it's now in it's 15 episode! Tomorrow's gonna be the result show for the Top36 (2nd batch). I kinda guessed who's gonna make it through...*Megan Joy Corkrey, Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta* We'll see tomorrow~

Basically this season's voting system is slightly different. The judges have chosen the Top36 and they are divided into 3 batches. Each week 3 people will get through ( Top female, Top male and next highest vote getter) Then there'll be a wild card round where there'll put put another 3 through from those who didn't make it in the 1st place. All together..making the Top12.

She has this beautiful daughter and her boyfriend's in the military. I'm actually glad she made it!



Top male - Michael Sarver
Macho man but when he sings...he looks SO sensitive! such a family man! So sexy~hehe...



Next top vote getter - Danny Gokey
Actually I thought he was kinda gay with the 'best friend' who didn't make it to the Top36 but I don't want to comment too much. He just lost his wife like recently. Undeniably a great singer!

I may be racist but then he's so funny! He looked so slumber during his auditions (with the short pants and slippers)

I would love to see him in the Top12! very entertaining! He kinda reminds me of Kumar from "Harold and Kumar" who's currently acting in House MD as well! Oh well..there's always the Wild Card round!




Tatiana Nicole Del Toro
My sister HATES her! I don't really like her but I love the drama that she's causing in AI8! She's such a drama queen!!! It's so hilarious to look at her~I hope she stays on longer in AI8 just for the drama!hahaha...

Judges loved her but she did badly last week so what to do..gotta say bye bye! They kept saying she's really pretty~Forgive me if I'm wrong..but she kinda looks weird to me..her features are SO BIG! BIG eyes..BIG mouth..BIG nose? Pretty? Maybe scottish girls are of a different league...My taste has been spoilt by the pretty caucasians here!



Steven Fowler
Very forgettable...the only thing I remembered from his was that he stormed out during Hollywood week when he forgot his lyrics. Terrible manners~



Jackie Tohn
I love her. She's this rocker chick who's absolutely beautiful and yet has this tomboyishness bout her...But she was wearing this really weird outfit for the performance last week. Admire her confidence.

Definitely a fashion NO NO!



Brent Keith
Dull..he sang country music. When Simon said that he was forgettable..he was so defensive! But it's true~

Very young and pretty. I was kinda disappointed that she was so pitchy. But a bit too plastic for me.

He's kinda cute but I guessed there's just too many competition...

Adam Lambert
He's good but not my favourite. Just a thought that Americans would most probably vote for him.

I can't believe he didn't win last seasons. Those that didn't vote for him last season....RETARDS!!! Luckily he's coming out with an album!!! So excited~ To show my support to him...I'm not gonna download his songs online...I'll definitely visit the pasar malam when I'm back in Malaysia to buy his 'original' CD!!!



Another guy that I absolutely adore in this season's AI is Michael Castro (Jason Castro's lil bro). I was surprised that he didn't make it into the Top36. The judges must have been drunk when they were making the decision...He's like a total chick magnet!

New hospital/new pbl!

***AIKS..I saw lots of drafts in my blog which I never got to finish writing! Many which are long overdued...paiseh paiseh..I will try my best to do so whenever I find time!

Previously I was posted to Glasgow Royal Infirmary...from this week onwards, I'll be doing my posting in Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

I'm quite frustrated with the new hospital..
It's BLOODY far!!!
Imagine I have to take the subway to the city..then take another train there..it takes bout 1 hour ++ to travel there..and another 1 hour ++ to travel back!!! At least 3 hours of my life gone..just on traveling!?! And not to mention the cost!!! Last time I'm always taking the FREE shuttle bus...now it takes 10pounds return!

You would have thought since it's an international (english-spoken) movie, it might not have those bollywood dancing scenes in the movie..well..no indian movie is complete without bollywood dancing!!!

My current PBL group consist mostly of Scottish with only one Irish girl and one English! AIKS...I'm the only chinese along with another Thai guy and apparently he's really quiet. So I have no choice but to speak up in PBL or else there's no Asian representative!*must let the Asian voices be heard~*

I was kinda depressed bout changing hospitals...but then at least the most lenzhai guy *Keanu Reeves* from the previous group is going with me!hahahaha! And the current group are crazy bout gossiping...heard so many scandals..felt quite at home~And they are really really really smart!

Phlebotomist?not!

This week in GP, my partner, Niall suggested drawing blood for our clinical practice. I've never done it on a real person before. We had a clinical skill session on a dummy hand and it was a
TOTAL BLOOD BATH!!

And I was in the same group as Niall for the clinical dummy session..and we made a TOTAL MESS..blood everywhere! Imagine my 'excitement' knowing we're gonna draw blood from each other!!! I can imagine how scared he was...but he didn't show. Good man!hehe...

I drew blood from Niall 1st but then it wasn't successful...Kinda poke the needle into soft tissue..luckily I'm gentle lady or I might have punctured his vein! Anyway, it was his turn to draw blood from me...I regretted going 1st because he'll have a chance of vengance! *AIKS!*

My arm turned all blue and cold, I think I must have been trembling because Niall and the GP kept asking me whether I'm alright!hahaha...The alcohol swap was like water swap..I didn't feel any anaesthetic effect!?! It wasn't excruciating pain when the needle poked..but still....it's more than an ant bite!!! Niall was successful...ah..my precious blood...gone~! Coz the doctor threw away the blood after. *Darn...*

Anyway..it was really fun and interesting! I knew I would like to write a post on this experience so on the way back, I asked Niall to post a 'scary horny' face...like those vampires who wants to suck your blood! But as you will see...my request was totally ignored!

Burns' Supper

I've finally finished my LCP essays!!!
I'm actually quite brain dead now but I've decided to celebrate it with a post for my almost dead blog...


On the 25th Jan, John decided to celebrate Burns' supper. And I was like "Burns WAD?" Apparently it's a celebration of this guy Robert Burns...who's regarded as the "legendary" poet of Scotland. Personally I'm not a fan of poems and artsy stuff....so I know none of his works except Auld Lang Syne.

Anyway, I thought it's just another dinner gathering...just tat it's with Scottish food (haggis, potatoes, turnips, whiskey) How wrong was I!!! John made us all wear formal! It felt SO weird~Coz usually John just walks around in a bathrob..=p

It was so formal..there's a particular ORDER to everything. 1st the hosts will serve all the guest with Scottish broth. BUT before we could start dining, John had to make a welcoming speech, then said grace..AND recite a poem about Scottish Broth. I was trying so hard to look serious and bite my lips to keep myself from laughing! Then only we were allowed to drink the broth.

Next, it was the potatoes and turnips. Again, someone had to recite a poem about potatoes and turnips. It's all bout the ORDER!!! Thou shall not mess up the ORDER!

Then it was the haggis' turn. Before making the 1st incision on the haggis, Yew Wen recited this really long poem which kinda made no sense to me because half of it is in scottish literature.

It's really scary thinking what it is made from. Sheep's lungs, heart and liver boiled for approximately 3 hours in animal's stomach. My 1st dip at haggis, I don't think I'll eat it again. Not because it tasted terrible..it actually tasted like sausages..but the thought of eating insides are just too much to bear.

Then there was a speech by Nina about Robert Burns. The only thing that I got from the 'lecture' was that Robert Burns was a naughty/horny young man. He only lived up to 37 but his legal wife gave birth to 9 childen. Not counting the various affairs he had..which accounts to 7 illegitimate children. Wow..he must have been real busy!!! If he had lived longer, the common surname in Scotland would have been Burns.

1st we had to make a toast to the Queen of England..may she be in good health. Then the guys will make a toast to the ladies..followed by ladies' toast to the guys. I was suppose to make a toast representing the ladies but then kinda got stunted after listening to Samuel's 'spicy' toast for the ladies. So Li Li had to make last minute impromtu toast!hehe...

We were suppose the finish the night up by singing Auld Lang Syne but none of us know whole the lyrics to the whole song..it'll just end up everything humming/mumbling. So we process with something more important!!!

Then we played Mario KART. Then whoever wins gets to wear this special cap. I never got to wear the cap...NOT even once~*sob*sob* All the practices..not good enough. The French squad seriously too PRO!

I thought Burns' Supper is quite widely celebrated in Glasgow..but when I asked the local students, they were like.."Huh? When was it?"
