I was super sleepy at OSCE practice today...but when they took out the breast model, I had no idea why I suddenly felt so awake!haha...

New hospital/new pbl!

***AIKS..I saw lots of drafts in my blog which I never got to finish writing! Many which are long overdued...paiseh paiseh..I will try my best to do so whenever I find time!

Previously I was posted to Glasgow Royal Infirmary...from this week onwards, I'll be doing my posting in Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

I'm quite frustrated with the new hospital..
It's BLOODY far!!!
Imagine I have to take the subway to the city..then take another train there..it takes bout 1 hour ++ to travel there..and another 1 hour ++ to travel back!!! At least 3 hours of my life gone..just on traveling!?! And not to mention the cost!!! Last time I'm always taking the FREE shuttle bus...now it takes 10pounds return!

Money=grocery=food...AIKS...no food?how?

I really like my pbl mates from Royal Infirmary. It was a blast! We had an PBL outing for our last day...ate pizzas at pizza hut then watched

Liying kept insisting that the main actor looks like Sree...I think so too!!But this guy's a wee bit fairer! Hee... You would have thought since it's an international (english-spoken) movie, it might not have those bollywood dancing scenes in the movie..well..no indian movie is complete without bollywood dancing!!!

They are a funny bunch! Always joking and made lots of 'rumours/gossips' especially bout Veer! But it's time to move on...

My current PBL group consist mostly of Scottish with only one Irish girl and one English! AIKS...I'm the only chinese along with another Thai guy and apparently he's really quiet. So I have no choice but to speak up in PBL or else there's no Asian representative!*must let the Asian voices be heard~*

I was kinda depressed bout changing hospitals...but then at least the most lenzhai guy *Keanu Reeves* from the previous group is going with me!hahahaha! And the current group are crazy bout gossiping...heard so many scandals..felt quite at home~And they are really really really smart!
It's gonna be fun!

Which brings me to mention bout my pbl group mate Angeline who looks SO MUCH like Amanda!!!


I think she can post as her twin! Don't get me wrong, Angeline just LOOKS like Amanda..she's one of the nicest people in my pbl! hehehe...



There's another guy in my group who looks like Keanu Reeves (just a blonde version)...

Peel View Surgery Clinic

Today I have clinic visits again! My 1st time on the glasgow subway and train!!! The subway train was SO small!!! My lenzhai irish partner can barely stand up straight...he had to hunch inside the sub~hehehe...

I honestly had loads of fun going to the clinic! It's a new experience each time! My doctor, Dr Ian is a very humble person..though like all other doctors..they like to shoot you with lots of questions but he does so in such a relax manner so it was great!




Kirkintilloch town is so far away you can see cows in fields and beautiful meadows...so peaceful~


We had to interview a couple of patients each..and also do our longitudinal care project where we visit patients who are chronically ill. Then there's this elderly couple...they were SO cute~when we went in..they straight away offered a cup of tea~then took our coats..then the elderly auntie was like.."Just treat me like ur granny~" hehehe!!! Then she gave us so much sweeties! Then the couple was SO CUTE~so loving! They have been married for 58 years!!!

Then afterwards I interview this elderly lady..she's SO small!!! I think she only weighed 31kg and she had HUGE glasses! And can you imagine her with squeeky high voice..hehe! Very energetic for her age..she's so funny! When I asked her to describe her headache..she said, "Oh..it's like a bunch of elephants jumping on my head..a party up there!" Then, she was talking about her son who's really BIG, "He had to buy a shirt which is like XXXXXXXXL size!!! If he gets any bigger..he can put me in his pocket!" Niall said she looks like a cute preying mantis!hehehe...

I love my clinic visits!

1st GP visit

I got posted to a clinic/surgery FAR FAR FAR away~ and I am still not able to pronounce or spell the name of the place?kilkirnoch?kilkirnacock? When I googled map..It'll take almost 3 hours to WALK or bout 45minutes to drive there!!!*so I guessed no way I can ride my bike there..haih~*

I was a bit nervous bout taking the bus or the subway myself for the 1st time.
BUT, luckily...we were posted in groups of 2 or 3. AND...lucky me~I got posted with a lenzhai irish guy! JEALOUS NOT? wuahahahaha!!! What's more...he's super nice and really really friendly~!

The clinic was really really far away, and rural...there are fields and farms filled with cows and horses. The place was just mesmerizing! I'm saying this NOT because there's a lenzhai beside me ya!

The clinic visit was lots of FUN! When the 1st patient came in, it HIT me like a brick that this is the REAL thing! The doctor gave us lots of freedom. We were asked to interview the patients as we like with him sitting in a corner. We were allowed to give our probably diagnosis and give advices and suggest treatment. Seriously stimulate sparks in our brain. And as usual, the doctor would shoot us with some random questions. Makes you alert and full of energy at all times! *sucked so much brain power and energy out of me that I slept in the bus on the way back!hehehe...*

Our doctor, Dr Ian Cannon was really knowledgable and highly respected among the community. He's amazing...a great teacher. Honestly, I was expecting common cases like headache, fever and diarrhoea but we had such a huge range of diseases and findings...completely love it!

Looking forward to the next visit! yipee~
